What happens at a collectors' meeting?
Have a look at the schedule of the 18th meeting which took place in Hamburg
Friday, August 31st 2007
starting at 7 p. m. at Mendelssohn’s, Julius-Vosseler-Strasse 40, in Lokstedt, Hamburg. The tavern is located in New Living Home, where many participants
will be lodging. The building is just across the street from Hagenbecks Tierpark tube station; the best way out is sign-posted. The Underground runs on
Fridays (and Saturdays) throughout the night, with a train every 20 minutes. Free parking is available to the left of New Living Home as well as behind it.
Saturday, September 1st 2007
starting at 9 a. m. in Loktstedter Grenzstrasse on the border between Stellingen and Lokstedt in north-central Hamburg. Taking the motorway exit at
Hamburg-Stellingen; the rest of the way to the zoo is sign-posted. Lokstedter Grenzstrasse turns off Koppelstrasse, a main road, towards the north.
Coming from New Living Home, the street is just around the corner walking or driving westwards. You will find a map of the neighbourhood on Hagenbeck’s
website, www.hagenbeck.de. Once in Lokstedter Grenzstrasse, walk or drive past the new main entrance (easily spotted from Koppelstrasse) perhaps 100 metres
to a gate posted Tor 2. That is the entrance to this year’s Zoohistorica in the meeting rooms of the new Tropical Aquarium. A large public car park is
just across the street; the fee for the whole day is € 2.50. If you are lucky, you may find free parking still available in the street. There is a very
small courtyard next to our entrance for deliveries to the Aquarium with its restaurant and to the Elephant House. If you have heavy loads to unload and
find the courtyard empty, please do not leave your car there unattended, and leave the site immediately once you have unloaded your cases. Please register
first at the entrance; if you have a stand you will be advised where to best find space. The trade fair is spread over three large rooms, one on the ground
floor and two upstairs. A lift is available behind the entrance to the right. From the rooms upstairs you will have direct access to the Aquarium’s
restaurant; we also have our own WC. We hope to inaugurate Zoohistorica 18 at 10 a. m. and gather first for our group portrait. The programme as announced
in the first circular is still valid.

Collectors' meeting 2009
The 20th International meeting of collectors of zoo literature and memorabilia was held on the last weekend of August 2009 at
the Parc Zoologique et Botanique de Mulhouse (France). It was be the first time an event like this took place at a French zoo! In addition,
Zoohistorica 2009 was the twentieth meeting since the first which took place at Hanover Zoo in Germany in 1990.
The event was a real success with no fewer than 92 participants from seven European countries.
A retrospection of this year's meeting can be found here.
